Larks Emirates FA Cup Victory

The Larks played their first competitive game of the season on Saturday, gaining an impressive 1–3 victory away at Kidlington in the Emirates FA Cup. In the next round we face either Portishead or Ardley United, who played out a draw on Saturday. The expectation is that we will face Portishead, who have retained the majority of the side which finished runners-up last season, despite being relegated back to the Western League because of ground grading.

Will Banks dominated the Midfield

The Larks dominated the game from start to finish, with a number of players making their competitive debuts and performing really well. Two of them also got on the scoresheet — a great way to start their Larks careers!

The pitch, like many at the moment, was more dust bowl than football pitch, with barely a blade of grass to be seen. I’m not sure all of the pitches will recover even when the rain eventually arrives. Luckily, that is one problem we don’t have to worry about!
